  •  Swabian Danube Valley (BY): Complexes of alluvial forests with oxbows, reed beds, graval beds, sprig mires and fens

Brandenburg

  •  Spree Forest (BB) *: Broadly meshed watercourse system with carr woodlands, riparian woodlands and nutrient-rich moist meadows
  •  Untere Havelniederung (BB) *: Large-scale, interconnected wetlands with intermediate wet river valley meadows

Hesse

  •  Kellerwald-Region (HE): Extensive beech forests and diversely structured cultural landscapes

  •  Senne/Teutoburg Forest (NW): Large-scale heath and mire complex, acidophilous mixed beech and oak forests in the Westphalian lowlands

  •  Upper Ahr Valley/Hocheifel (RP): Near-natural river system and adjacent river valley land, in many cases with extensive grazing.

  •  Common grazing areas in the Thuringian Rhön (TH): Dry grassland, large-scale basalt, red and calcareous nutrient-poor grassland, juniper heaths, rock outcrops, stoney limestone fields and calcareous fens in the Vorderrhön area
