Peene-Haff Valley and Peatlands (MV) *: Watercourse with river lowland mire complex near the estuary

Schaalsee Area (SH/MV) *: Lakes and montane landscape belonging to the Lauen and West Mecklenburg region

Lower Saxony

Coastal Empetrum nigrum heathland (NI): ): Largest of the heathlands dominated by crowberry

Hamme lowlands (NI): Wet grassland with residual raised bog

Hannoversche Moorgeest (NI): Raised bog complex in the Weser-Aller lowlands

Lüneburger Heide (NI): Large-scale heath landscape in Central Europe, with black grouse

Lutter (NI) *: Near-natural watercourse system with characteristic community of oligotrophic geestland streams and their adjoining habitats

Meerbruch-Steinhuder Meer (NI) *: Moist grassland, habitat for endangered meadow birds

Wümme lowlands of Fischerhude (NI) *: Moist grassland, habitat for endangered meadow birds

North Rhine-Westphalia

Ahr River (NW) *: Representative watercourse system in the Kalkeifel region (Ahr 2000)

Rhineland Palatinate

Ruwer (RP) *: Near-nature watercourse in the Mittelgebirge, Germany’s central uplands

Ill river (SL) *: Watercourse system similar to that in the Mittelgebirge

Saar-Blies loess loam landscape (SL): Late triassic and mussel chalk landscape with large-scale meadows of sage and tall meadow-oat
